Employment Verification

Employment Verification

Official Stamped Verification Letters

Our employer can provide two official forms of employment verification:

  • Employment History Verification - this is generally used for job applications. It helps determine, for instance, your pay level.

  • Current Employment Verification - this document is often used for bank account creation and signing up for certain educational websites, discounts, and memberships.

Both of these letters will bear an official stamp from the current superintendent. To receive this, you will need to submit a request form to the GET Program Manager. They are available in both Korean and English.

Generic Letter of Reference

This letter is signed by the GET Program Manager and outlines your general duties as a GET. If you have been involved in any extra programs or been the recipient of any awards, this will be noted too.

Please note that the LOR with an ink signature must be collected in person from the GET Program Manager and signed for. If you can accept a copy without a signature, then this can be emailed as a PDF.

Personal Reference/Recommendation Letters

Since your co-teachers have direct in-class experience with you, they are your primary source for personalized references and recommendation letters. These letters are not common practice in Korea, so you will likely need to explain this concept to them and what you will use the letter for (grad school admissions, certain jobs, etc.). If you are concerned about the English in the letter, you can politely ask if it would be possible for you to proofread the letter. Alternatively, you may have them write the letter in Korean and pay for it to be professionally translated.

The GET Program Manager generally does not have enough in-class experience with individual GETs to be able to act as a professional reference or to provide written recommendations.
